Rainbow Six to remain 360, PC exclusive thru holiday
Without explanation, Ubisoft has pushed back the releases of Rainbow Six Vegas for PlayStation 3 and PSP until January 30. The PC version was also delayed from November 28 to December 12, barely squeezing inside the holiday release window. Meanwhile, Xbox 360 owners are already deep into Vegas, which looks to restore the series' respectability after 2005's misstep Lockdown. Both single-player and Xbox Live multiplayer demos are also available for download on 360's marketplace, for those that want to test the waters before leaping in. While not as visually arresting, Vegas' multiplayer has the depth to outlast Gears fo War.
[Thanks, Mack]

Why don't they just come out and admit that the reason for this pushback is because of difficulty in working with the PS3 hardware?

The demo they had on Live was freaking amazing. Christmas can't come soon enough so I can open this sucker up and play it on my 360.

I think, I guess that maybe if R6: Vegas has the Games for Windows moniker, that they might be smoothing out multiplayer issues between X360 and PC players.

The depth to outlast GoW? Yeah right, only if realism is your thing. Sorry, but I'm not a huge fan of 3 shots I'm dead, then 10 second respawn for most of a match. And the only way that doesn't happen to you is if you camp and wait for people to walk by

Screw Rainbow Six....Where is Counterstrike:Source for 360. CS for Xbox is still in the TOP 5 most played Live games, and has been for 3 years straight.
OFFICE FTW

I really hope they get the PC vs. 360 stuff smoothed out, I can't wait to totally dominate with my mouse and keyboard.

Wow. You suck at games.

Lol, yeah I agree, you die even faster in gears of war if you aren't behind cover... RS: Vegas is actually more forgiving than gears of war imo.
And Counter strike doesn't work on consoles, it looks much better on a nice gaming rig, and you get to use mouse+keyboard.
Usedtabe @ Nov 22nd 2006 7:59PM
No, I just like my games a little more Sci-fi than realistic. And again, I'd love to see someone survive in Rainbow 6 just running around looking for people. OF course, if you're playing crappy people, you can run around all day. But if you're against a good team, then you better sit and wait for a special opening, which depending on your team, could take a while. In gears, I rarely die (unless my team is gone). You cannot tell me that you hide longer in gears than in rainbow 6(without dying)
"You suck at games"
Yeah, you can tell this becuase of my post about the realism in Rainbow 6? You are a fucking idiot. I was only disagreeing with the "depth" comment, which has no bearing on my skill at games. Especially when I was mentioning what happened when playing against really good R6 players my first time.

skillcoil-
probably because Sony told them not to, that would piss them off quite a bit I suppose. Many people seem to think that it's because of the online component though. Unlike 360/XBL, ubisoft has to take care of the added cost of setting up servers for the game so that people can play online on PS3. The PC version wasn't effected because ubi already has servers setup from prior PC titles that were online.
So kids, what you are seeing here is the effect that a "free" online system has on games and the developers.

This game has had a 1/30 PS3 release date on EBgames for several weeks now. This is not breaking news.
